Terms
Aldernote is a personal meeting-notes app run by its developer, offered to people who have been given access. These are the terms of using it, kept as short as honesty allows.
Your content is yours
Everything you record, type, upload or generate in Aldernote belongs to you. Aldernote uses it only to run the features you asked for, and never claims any other right to it. You can export or delete it at any time.
Recording other people
You are responsible for having the consent you need before recording anyone, under the laws that apply where you and they are. The app reminds you before you press Record; it cannot know who is in the room.
Fair use
Every feature that spends money on a model has a daily allowance per account, and transcription has a daily allowance across all accounts. When you reach one, the app tells you and the window resets at midnight UTC. A recording refused by the daily ceiling is kept and processed automatically the next day; nothing is lost. Accounts that abuse the service can be removed from the allowlist.
What Aldernote depends on
The app runs on other companies’ infrastructure and models (see the privacy page for the list). Their outages become Aldernote’s outages, and a transcript or a set of notes can be wrong: the app merges your notes with an automatic transcript, and it is designed never to invent facts, but you should read important notes before you rely on them.
No warranty
Aldernote is provided as is, without a guarantee of availability or accuracy, and without liability for losses that come from relying on it beyond what the law does not allow to be excluded.
Changes and ending
These terms change when the app changes; the current version lives at this address. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting your account from Settings, which removes your data as the privacy page describes.
